Early Years

Seres Engineering was established in 1977 by John Seres.

Services at that time included high performance packages, tuning, engine reconditioning, fabrication, general maintenance and repairs.

John was an avid racer and competed in the ‘sport sedans’ racing class and drove a Datsun 1000 powered by a custom turbocharged Holden 202 motor.

2000s

The mid 2000's saw John's son Steel enter the business and a focus on modifying and turbocharging VL Holden Commodores. Steel's VL turbo ran into the 9 second zone at Calder Park, which at the time made it the quickest full street trim VL Turbo on pump 98 fuel driven to and from the track.

2010s

Our next phase saw a transition to the Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo platform. The shop's focus turned to BARRA performance upgrades, engine rebuilds and transmission conversions. Shortly after in mid 2015 Steel's Ford BA XR6 Turbo dipped into the 9's with a 9.88 @ 144mph.

2017

Fast forward to 2017 and our purchase of the final edition FGX Falcon XR6 Turbo. The businesses' initial goal was to run a 10 second quarter mile with minimal modifications on a stock engine and transmission. In March 2018 that goal was quickly realized seeing our FGX set a time of 10.52 @ 135mph.

Recent

Our business goal was then reset to have the quickest FGX Falcon in the country. In January 2019 we were back at the track to test our 1000hp capable package earning us a 9.39 @ 150mph. With some fine tuning in April 2019 our goal was quickly achieved, with our FGX running a 8.96 @ 156mph in full street trim awarding us the quickest FGX Falcon in the country at that time and first FGX Falcon into the 8's. In true Seres style the car has always been driven to and from the track every time it has been raced, showcasing its true street potential.
